Colorado’s pollinators work hard every day to support healthy ecosystems, thriving gardens, and diverse landscapes. From native bees and butterflies to hummingbirds and other beneficial wildlife, these important species rely on access to food, shelter, and habitat throughout the growing season. One of the best ways to support them is through the use of Colorado pollinator plants.
To help raise awareness and create lasting habitat for local pollinators, Vargas Property Services is excited to host a free Community Pollinator Garden Planting Event on July 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 124 E. Coal Creek Drive in Superior, Colorado.
Helping Pollinators One Plant at a Time
Pollinator populations face increasing challenges due to habitat loss, development, and environmental changes. By planting native flowers and pollinator-friendly species, communities can help provide essential nectar, pollen, and shelter for these valuable creatures.
Our Community Pollinator Garden will serve as both a functional habitat and an educational resource, demonstrating how Colorado pollinator plants can be incorporated into landscapes to benefit both people and wildlife.
What You’ll Learn During the Event
Attendees will have the chance to work alongside community members and landscaping professionals while learning about the benefits of pollinator-friendly landscaping practices.
Activities include:
- Planting Colorado-native flowers and pollinator plants
- Learning how native plants support bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds
- Discovering how native landscapes can help conserve water
- Exploring sustainable landscaping techniques suitable for Colorado’s climate
- Attending an educational presentation from the Vargas Property Services team
- Connecting with neighbors who share an interest in environmental stewardship
Why Colorado Pollinator Plants Matter
Colorado native plants are uniquely adapted to our region’s climate and growing conditions. Many require less water once established, making them an excellent choice for sustainable landscapes.
In addition to their water-wise benefits, native pollinator plants provide critical food sources throughout the growing season. By selecting plants that bloom at different times, property owners can help support pollinators from spring through fall.
Popular Colorado pollinator plants often include:
- Purple Coneflower (Echinacea)
- Rocky Mountain Penstemon
- Bee Balm
- Blanket Flower
- Yarrow
- Asters
- Native Milkweed Species
- Columbine
These plants not only support local wildlife but also add color, texture, and seasonal beauty to residential and commercial landscapes.
Building a More Sustainable Community
Pollinator gardens offer benefits far beyond a single property. They contribute to biodiversity, support healthier ecosystems, and create beautiful spaces that can be enjoyed by the entire community.
At Vargas Property Services, we believe landscaping should be both beautiful and environmentally responsible. Through projects like this Community Pollinator Garden, we’re proud to help create sustainable landscapes that support Colorado’s natural environment while bringing people together.
